Sesame Crusted Tofu Filets
These were SUPAH good! We are not a tofu hating house, but even if you live in one of those (also I’m sorry!) this has some great crunch from the sesame seeds and the tofu take on the taste of the quick marinade really well!
1/2 sesame seeds
1/2 cup aminos (or tamari)
1 tbsp ginger
2 cloves of garlic crushed
1 block of extra firm tofu (drained, see note below )
- Combine the garlic, aminos and ginger in a bowl.
- Cut the tofu into filets and dunk them in the amino mixture.
- Roll the soaked tofu in the sesame seeds.
- In a pan on medium heat with some avocado (or other) oil in sear the filets for a couple minutes on each side.
Note: The longest part is draining the tofu (put a towel or other absorbent cloth down on a plate. Lay the tofu on top. Cover with the towel and put a plate on top of that. Stack cans or other another heavy item on top and let sit for ten or so minutes). The longer you drain the firmer the texture will be.
